New technology and the development of sophisticated accessibility features have resulted in digital devices providing fantastic opportunities for people affected by sight loss.

Our Digital Dynamos project supports people with visual impairment to get the most out of their devices, as well as offering a ‘try before you buy’ scheme. People can access peer-support to overcome any barriers to getting online and staying socially connected.

In this role you will:

·        Manage the project overseeing all areas, including the management of the Digital Dynamos Administrator, funding, and try before you buy scheme, ensuring the key outcomes of the project are met.

·         Assess the needs of service users referred to the project via home visit (in line with Vista's Lone Working policy) or phone call. Determining support required, frequency and if a buddy is required.

·        Being responsible for the recruitment, selection and management of volunteers local to their areas, ensuring all potential volunteers undergo a full DBS check receive a full induction including specialist training.

You will be an excellent communicator, and able to collaborate effectively to engage volunteers and external agencies with the project. You care about the possibilities technology can offer and have the skills to teach others. 

This is a fixed term contract until 31st October 2023.

This role includes Hybrid working.
