Laughter Yoga is a unique concept where we laugh for no reason. There’s no comedy, no humor and no jokes…we simply laugh for the sake of it. It doesn’t matter if the laughter is real or simulated…the body can’t tell the difference and the many health benefits are yours to be had regardless.
Laughter releases endorphins which positively impact the mood in minutes, with participants reporting they feel more positive up to 24 hours later. Laughter Yoga can reduce depression and anxiety, promote better quality sleep and boost motivation, focus and creativity.

The session is suitable for everybody regardless of age, mobility and fitness levels. Participants are encouraged to take part as much or as little as they prefer.
Laughter Yoga, despite what the name suggests, does not involve traditional yoga moves. Instead it combines laughter with deep breathing exercises, akin to that done during traditional yoga practice and can be done seated or standing. The session includes a laughter warm up, themed laughter ‘exercises’ and concludes with a period of relaxation. Each session will have a different theme on which the session will be built.
Laughter exercises will be demonstrated, after which participants join in. The sound of others laughing has a particularly beneficial effect creating greater energy and group dynamics which has positive impacts on team working and inter-personal relationships; participants are therefore encouraged to leave sound and microphone on throughout the session, with the exception of the relaxation section.
