Celebrate World Health Day at Vista
Celebrate World Health Day with us and other health-related charities to discover top tips for looking after your eyes and get any questions you have answered.
Some of the companies confirmed for our event so far are;

Macular Society
Macular Society's vision is to end macular disease. Their mission is to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world-class research, and the best advice and support to make it happen by showing they care and knowing their stuff.
Diabetes UK
Diabetes UK is leading the fight against diabetes in the UK, sharing knowledge and has a vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm.
Glaucoma UK
Glaucoma UK wants to end preventable glaucoma sight loss. Over 700,000 people in the UK have glaucoma and half of them don’t know they have it.
Sense
Sense has almost seventy years of experience supporting people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities. They believe everyone should be able to take part in life, no matter their disability and empower thousands of people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities to communicate, experience the world and fulfil their potential.
CHEC Healthcare
CHEC Healthcare was founded in 2012 and worked in partnership with thousands of optometrists to deliver their shared care partnership model. They are one of the largest providers of community-based ophthalmology services in the UK.
Vita Health Group
Vita Health Group aims to improve lives physically and mentally. They work in partnership with the NHS to provide mental and physical health services, work with the UK’s largest companies to help support their workforce and provide a full range of physiotherapy services to private customers.
Wood Street Optical
Wood Street Opticians will be offering:
- a pre-screening eye test
- a quick hearing test
- vouchers for £19 Eye Exams and 15% off when shopping at the practice

Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire
Healthwatch is your health and social care champion. If you use health services or need care, they want to hear about your experiences. Sharing the collective power of people's experiences has the power to make sure NHS leaders and other decision-makers listen and improve standards of care. They can also help you to find reliable and trustworthy advice and information.
Last year they helped over one and a half million people to have their say and get the support they need.

Transport Options
Dial-a-ride
Leicester Dial-a-Ride provides accessible transport for people, collecting City Council residents and taking them to the City Centre. The drop off points are Highcross Shopmobility or Haymarket Shopmobility, both are about 10 minutes walk from the café.

Taxi services
Many of our members will be in receipt of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance to support with getting around. If you are unfamiliar with booking taxi’s and would like information of services in your area please contact Vanisha on 07715078811.
Train and bus travel
Vista is about a 10 minute walk from Leicester Train Station, or there is a taxi pick up and drop off point to the front of the station.
With the space being so central it will be accessible from most bus routes. For support in finding out where to get off, please contact Vanisha.
