Intrepid adventurer to tackle Base Camp Everest in aid of Vista
Keen adventurer Bhavna Hughes is taking on the challenge of a lifetime and tackling the trek to Base Camp Everest in aid of Vista and The Bridge.
On Thursday 11th May, Bhavna will commence her trek up to Base Camp Everest. The Everest Base Camp in Nepal itself sits at an impressive 17,598 feet (5,364m) high reaching altitudes of over 5500 metres.
Bhavna has been a practicing optician for 40 years and understands the significant impact sight loss has on her clients – Bhavna is also aware of the great work undertaken at Vista and how the charity has supported many of them through their sight loss journey. She's chosen to support Vista as she has witnessed the positive impact the charity has had on people's lives.

“I’m really excited to take on the new challenge after completing Kilimanjaro a few years ago. It'll be the first time I’ve been to Nepal and I can't wait!”

“We wish Bhavna lots of luck with her challenge of a lifetime, and we are so very grateful that she has chosen to fundraise for Vista. Bhavna’s vital support will help to fund our work, for example, rehabilitation, helping individual's regain their independence immediately following a sight loss diagnosis.”
