London Road Diversion Arrangements

With the continued development to London road, we have been asked by the Public Transport Coordinator of Leicester City Council to pass on the following information.

London road resurfacing

Diversion arrangements

Thursday 11^th July 2019

From 7pm London Road will be closed outbound whilst work starts on the area outside the station including the Bus Lane. Buses will use a temporary stop just prior to Station Street, aided by a traffic marshal.

The diversion for all services is agreed as follows:

Waterloo Way, left Regent Road up to Granville Road.

2 x temporary outbound bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road. The road will re-open at 5am the following morning.

Friday 12^th July 2019

From 7pm London Road will be closed both outbound and inbound as work continues outside the Station and in the Bus Lane as well as at the Evington Road Junction. Buses will use a temporary stop at the Station just prior to Station Street, aided by a traffic marshal.

The diversion for Wigston and Oadby services is agreed as follows:

Waterloo Way, left Regent Road, right University Road, left Welford Road then left Victoria Park Road for Oadby services in BOTH directions.

The diversion for Evington area services is agreed as follows:

Charles Street, left St Georges Way, right Swain Street, Sparkenhoe Street and St Peter’s Road in BOTH directions.

2 x temporary bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road on BOTH sides of the road.  This diversion will finish at the end of service on Friday 12^th July.

Saturday 13^th July to Monday 15^th July 5am

From 5am London Road will be closed in both directions. Buses will now be able to access the temporary bus stop just AFTER Station Street before pulling back across to Waterloo Way.

The diversion is agreed as:

Waterloo Way, left Regent Road, Granville Road in BOTH directions.

2 x temporary bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road on BOTH sides of the road.

This diversion will finish at 5am on Monday 15^th July.

Monday 15^th July from 5am to Friday 19^th July 7pm

From 5am London Road will be closed inbound only through to Friday evening at 7pm. Buses will now have use of the bus lane outside the Railway Station where there will be 3x temporary stops sited. The stop outside Tesco will be decommissioned.

The inbound diversion is agreed as:

Granville Road, Regent Road, right Waterloo Way.

2 x temporary bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road.

This diversion will finish at 7pm on Friday 19^th July.

Friday 19^th July 7pm to Monday 22^nd July 5am

From 7pm London Road will be closed both outbound and inbound as work continues. Buses will again be able to access the temporary bus stop just AFTER Station Street before pulling back across to Waterloo Way.

The diversion is agreed as:

Waterloo Way, left Regent Road, Granville Road in BOTH directions.

2 x temporary bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road on BOTH sides of the road.

Monday 22^nd July 5am to Friday 26^th July 7pm

Access to London Road in BOTH directions. Some lane closures only. No diversions required.

Friday 26^th July 7pm to Monday 29^th July 5am

From 7pm London Road will be closed both outbound and inbound as work continues. Buses will again be able to access the temporary bus stop just AFTER Station Street before pulling back across to Waterloo Way.

The diversion is agreed as:

Waterloo Way, left Regent Road, Granville Road in BOTH directions.

2 x temporary bus stops provided on Regent Road near to the junctions with DeMontfort Street and University Road on BOTH sides of the road.

Hospital hopper

 

Outbound closure of London Road

On dates when London Road is closed outbound the Hopper will turn right out of East Street and then take Waterloo Way, left Regent Road and Granville Road resuming the normal route after turning right into London Road.

NOTE          

On the evening of Friday 12^th July the diversion will be slightly altered to accommodate the closure of the Evington Road/London Road Junction. The route will be Waterloo Way, left Regent Road, right University Road, left Welford Road, left Victoria Park Road resuming normal route from Mayfield Road Island.

 

Inbound closure of London Road

On dates when London Road is closed inbound the Hopper will turn left into Granville Road, Regent Road and then resume normal route by turning left into Waterloo Way.

NOTE  On the evening of Friday 12^th July the diversion will be slightly altered to accommodate the closure of the Evington Road/London Road Junction. The route will be, left Victoria Park Road, right Welford Road, right University Road, left Regent Road and the resume normal route by turning left into Waterloo Way.
