Roadworks around Fosse Park making travel to Kathleen Rutland difficult

Drivers have been warned of likely traffic disruption near Fosse Park over the weekend while a damaged bridge is repaired, making it more difficult to reach our Kathleen Rutland home from Leicester City Centre. 

Leicestershire County Council is carrying out the repairs on the A563 Soar Valley Way, between the retail complex and the junction to Lutterworth Road, to remove and replace damaged safety fences on the busy route.

The work, the timetable for which is outlined below, will take around two weeks.

  • Soar Valley Way will be closed in both directions overnight on Saturday, July 13, and again on Friday, July 26.
  • A further overnight closure may be needed on Sunday, July 14.

  • Soar Valley Way will be closed in both directions for two nights on Saturday, July 13, and again on Friday, July 26.

  • A further overnight closure may take place on Sunday, 14 July, in the event of any unforeseen delays.
  • The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, with signed diversion routes in place.

At all other times the road will be open to one lane of traffic in both directions with a speed restriction of 30mph in place.

Repairs are expected to be completed by Monday, July, 29.

Suggested diversion

A proposed proposed alternative diversion route will be via:

  • B4114 Narborough Road South, B5460 Narborough Road South Enderby, B5460 Narborough Road, A47 St Augustine Road, Peacock Lane, Southgates, A594 Oxford Street, Infirmary Road,A426 Aylestone Road, A426 Lutterworth Road and vice versa.
