Vista is delighted to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive, Susan Hoath
Vista is delighted to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive, Susan Hoath, who will join the charity in January. Susan spent almost 20 years working in and with the NHS, mostly in roles commissioning community services and working across health and care. After a brief period in the private sector and then at the Department of Health, she realised she could have far more impact on the health and wellbeing of people and communities by working in the Charity Sector and has done so ever since, now working from the other side of the table to offer evidence-based community services back to commissioners.
After 5 years with Sight Concern Bedfordshire and then as CEO for Focus Birmingham, Susan is looking forward to leading Vista, an organisation she says she has long admired. “From the very first time I heard about the work of Vista, and then later on meeting staff and seeing some of the services in action, I was determined to find ways to work with them, and did so, for example on describing and measuring individual outcomes, recording not just how much work we do but the real difference that we make, every day, to people affected by sight loss.
I am really excited about now joining the team, leading the continued culture shift towards a stronger person-centred approach and exploring new ways to make a difference directly through our own services and by working in partnership with other local and national charities to in future.
Louisa Hosegood, Chair of trustees says “I am delighted to be welcoming Susan to Vista and very much look forward to working with her to take the charity forward, delivering our new strategic direction”
