Vista's Children and Young People and their families enjoy trip to Calvert Trust 2023
From 17th – 21st July 2023 Vista's children and young people and their families attended a 5-day residential trip to the Calvert Trust, Outdoor Activities Centre at the Lake District.
Over the next five days the group took part in 3 full days of activities including cycling, canoeing, sailing out on the catamaran, bushcraft and Lakeland walking and exploring.
The evenings were spent in the sports hall playing football, basketball and badminton and socialising in the games room where the group played pool and table tennis.
Our trip allowed our children and young people and their families to experience activities that ordinarily would not be accessible or available to them.
One parent said:
"The kids had so much fun. It was such a joy getting to see them trying out new activities, making friends and of course lasting memories. Seeing our son just being himself whilst getting to experience the same things as everyone else was the best feeling.
Usually when going away, we have to do all the planning beforehand to avoid disappointment. Being somewhere so accessible where I didn't have to worry that he would miss out was just amazing.
